FACTION PRIMER: The Sovereignty of Tenebrine
Faction
Primer:
Sovereignty of Tenebrine
“They
are a bunch of resilient bastards, never knowing when to back down. We took one
fortress, they took two of ours. We brought ten tanks, they brought fifteen.
Now I know why the old Empire could not conquer them,”
~Captain McDarien
The Sovereignty of Tenebrine is a country
located on the western side of the continent. Descending from the old Kingdoms of Farrec, Tenebrine is often
considered as one of the two most powerful nations in the northern side of the
land and is often at odds with the Urmanean Empire since the fall of Jakhad. With the king as its ruler, the
Sovereignty is a pseudo-monarchy with a cabinet of ministers assisting the king
in governing the country. The current king (by 1 January 2341) is King Gregory IX of House Drakhai with his son; Prince
Jonathan is in line to succeeding the nation.
Taking the skull of a
dragon as its coat of arms upon a field of red, it represents the Sovereignty’s
undying will to survive and to endure in its most trying times. Honor above all,
Tenebrine will uphold the oaths made by their forefathers – even in the call to
war, such is the case when the Republic
of Grecca summons its ancestral allies to aid in the war against Urmanea,
which brings the might of Tenebrine into the battlefields.
The Warriors of
Tenebrine
While not as technologically advanced as the Empire, the Sovereignty boasts great military power especially in its army regiments. They were separated into three distinctive divisions, the Footmen Division, the Armored Division and the dreaded Shock Trooper Divisions. There is also the Royal Air Divisions as well as the Royal Tenebrine Armada. Each played a significant role in the war, with the Footmen Divisions served as the backbone of the Tenebrine army and scattered across the Eastern Front against the Empire, aiding the shattering remains of Great Grecca in the fight.
The Armored Divisions
provided much of the tanks on ground, utilizing the use of Griffin Type tanks with the standard 40mm rounds being used quite
predominantly in the war. Chimera Type
tanks are equipped with a flame thrower barrel complemented with a .50 cal
machinegun on the top and the Pegasus
Types, equipped with long barreled cannon and predominantly use 150mm
rounds.
The Shock Troopers are the specialized
force for the Sovereignty, often picked from the best infantry regiments to
undergo rigorous training as well as high altitude jumps from carrier ships for
airborne insertions. Sometimes known as the Few Undying, the Shock Troopers were often sent to secure
objectives that no other divisions of the military can. Experimental equipment
such as the jump packs can be utilized but are considered to be uncommon and
only gifted to the best Shock Trooper squads.
Tenebrine’s control of
the air is unrivalled with the use of the Thunderbolt
Fighters (first mentioned in Our Final Glory) which are faster
than the Empire’s U20 Phoenix. The royal fleets often provided artillery
support from troops on land, especially on coastal areas where resistance are
heavy for the infantry.
